FACULTY RESEARCH GROUP - EDUCATION FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE
* The rate and nature of migrations of contemporary Poles indicates, that undertaking scientific research on the phenomenon of migration and maintaining access to the Polish culture through the knowledge of the Polish language and cultural codes appears to be an activity that is innovative, necessary and important for pedagogy.
* The work of the Faculty Research Group will be based on cooperation with research units and communities associated with the Polish language schools organized for Polish Diaspora groups, and will be focused on conducting studies and the dissemination of their results, both in the form of scored publications, as well as open lectures and materials available online.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
* Conducting studies and analyses on the educational contexts shaping cultural heritage in conditions of bilingualism, biculturalism and multiculturalism.
* Exploring the importance of socio-cultural issues of shaping of the educational process for the protection and maintenance of cultural heritage as a form of support for Polish Diaspora communities.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
* Integrating and supporting communities of Polish Diaspora school teachers.
* Supporting Polish Diaspora families in shaping intergenerational relationships.
* Supporting the parents of Polish Diaspora children in understanding the functioning of the education systems of their countries of residence and planning their children's educational careers.
* Undertaking activities in the Polish Diaspora communities aimed at overcoming barriers to cultural integration.
* Assistance in selecting and adapting the strategies for learning/maintaining the knowledge Polish language in families in inter-cultural and bi-lingual or multi-lingual conditions.
