VOLONTARIO is the Faculty Volunteer Center operating at the Faculty of Educational Studies at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań since 2005. The motto guiding our actions is very simple - "I don't have to do anything, but I want to."
Our volunteers take part in a wonderful adventure - they face new challenges and at the same time make new friends, develop their interests and gain new experiences needed in the future work of the educator. Co-creating the "Volontario" team gives a lot of satisfaction. We are open to all people who feel that volunteering is something for them and want to do something good for others with us. We are waiting for you in our room 303, where, during the volunteers' duty, not only tea awaits each guest, but above all an opportunity to talk and act together.
The aim of our voluntary service is not only to provide all kinds of help to people in need and to shape the attitude of selfless concern for another human being. It is also important to develop students' sensitivity to social life, to connect people willing to help others with appropriate organizations and institutions, and to stimulate willingness to act. We also enable students to gain experience useful in later work through opportunities for individual development, acquiring specific skills, pursuing their own interests and learning about the specifics of work in educational institutions. We work with primary schools, school and sociotherapeutic clubs, kindergartens and all kinds of care facilities - orphanages, family orphanages or family emergency centers.
In addition to permanent assistance, we organize many regular and occasional events. These are, for example, "St. Andrew's Day" for children from selected social therapy centers or the Marrow Donor Day. We are proud of the annual Spring Rallies "Students for Children", organized for children from care and educational institutions in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, as well as New Year's events for seniors and people with disabilities in Szamotuły. We take part in nationwide campaigns, such as “Szlachetna Paczka” and “Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy”. We work with many foundations and associations: Wielkopolska Volunteering, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights, the Municipal Family Support Center, the Blue Foundation and others. With great success, our volunteers have become involved in the Colorful University initiative created by our university, promoting the idea of combining science and fun among primary school children.
We also enable young people to participate in many workshops and trainings. Our volunteers take part, among others in training on children's rights, working with children with special educational needs, as well as a workshop on proper communication. Our experience is deepening every day as we strive to develop our competences, contacts and achievements. We need people who are ready to act and show initiative. We invite all of us - both those who need help and those who want to provide it.
